Marty Two Bulls Jr. is an artist, musician and educator currently living and working in Rapid City, SD. Two Bulls is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and spent most of his youth in the high plains and badlands of western South Dakota. Two Bulls comes from a family of artists. He grew up under the artistic tutelage of his father, Marty Two Bulls Sr., who is an accomplished artist, designer and cartoonist. He attended college at the Institute of American Indian Arts where he completed his Bachelors of Fine Arts focused in Printmaking and Ceramics in 2011. Two Bulls spent several years living and working in Santa Fe after graduation. In Santa Fe, Two Bulls worked in contemporary art galleries where he was exposed to a wide variety of artwork and artists. In 2017 Two Bulls returned to South Dakota to teach full time at his tribe’s college, Oglala Lakota College, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. At Oglala Lakota College, Two Bulls built the Associates in Graphic Arts program and continues to work and mentor other Lakota artists.
